The Tuesday, November 5, 2019 City of Houston Mayoral Election is Nonpartisan; Tony Buzbee is Running as a Nonpartisan Candidate

Tony Buzbee, a 2019 candidate running for mayor of the City of Houston does not like partisan political labels at all -- not one bit. Now, like many of us, sometimes he's very disappointed by how candidates he's supported choose to govern once they're in office. But we just can't do anything about how others choose to act! Can we? However, as warm-blooded Americans, what we can do is to continue to make our voices heard at the ballot box going forward. And the best way for us to accomplish this objective is by freely supporting the candidate (or candidates) of our own personal choices in local, state, and national elections. His wife Zoe, and daughter are seen above with former U.S. President Barack Obama. Tony Buzbee himself is seen above with former U.S. President Bill Clinton. And former Governor of Texas Rick Perry is also pictured above recognizing Tony Buzbee and his wife Zoe.

Attorney Tony Buzbee Has Never Been A Partisan Kinda Guy; According to Buzbee, Partisan Labels are Bull$**t, Have no Place Whatsoever in Local Nonpartisan Citywide Elections

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

According to 2019 City of Houston Mayoral Candidate Tony Buzbee, partisan labels are Bull$**t. Now, while I don’t particularly care for the language he used, I do think he has a point. And as for me, well, I totally agree! Partisanship has no place in "NONPARTISAN ELECTIONS" like the one that’s about to go down in Houston on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. After all, the very word nonpartisan, according to the Miriam Webster Dictionary means, “not partisan, especially: free from party affiliation, bias, or designation.” So, as "ELECTION DAY," Tuesday, November 5, 2019, creeps closer and closer, I would like to take this moment to remind all Houstonians, that the local Harris County Democratic Party bosses, and Harris County Republican Party bosses should not be playing ball in the upcoming citywide elections.

PARTY POLITICS SHOULD BE REJECTED

Over the years, local citywide elections have become increasingly more and more partisan, as party bosses, pundits, political hacks, talking heads, political entrepreneurs, and consultants have adopted a “WIN-AT-ALL-COST” methodology. But what happens in these cases is candidates belonging to one political party or the other gains an unfair advantage over their fellow competitors in given races.

Look, most local citywide elections in America are nonpartisan for a very good reason. In case you don’t know, many states in America first enacted nonpartisan election laws back during the Progressive Era in direct response to the perception that “POLITICAL PARTY BOSSES” and their “ORGANIZATIONAL MACHINES” were actually corrupting city governments throughout the nation. They thought enacting such measures would curtail the practice of "PARTISAN INTERFERENCE IN LOCAL CITYWIDE ELECTIONS" and lead to a more efficient and responsive city government.

ONLY NAMES ON THE BALLOT

When Houstonians waltz into the voting booth at the start of “EARLY VOTING” on Monday, October 21, 2019, they won’t see the letter “D” or “R” in front of, or behind any name on their ballot. Nor will they find the words “DEMOCRAT” or “REPUBLICAN” anywhere on their ballot during the “EARLY VOTING PERIOD” or on “ELECTION DAY” which is on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. And rightly so, because typical nonpartisan election laws permit only the names of candidates, without any party affiliation, to appear on the ballot. So to this end, I am strongly encouraging all “OPEN-MINDED HOUSTONIANS” to make it their business to elect the “BEST-QUALIFIED” candidates who value our vote, prayers, and support at the ballot box during this pivotal moment in the history of our great nation.

THINKING ABOUT RUNNING?

According to the folks at the Houston City Secretary’s Office candidates looking to run for office on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, can pay a filing fee, or they can collect signatures to have their name placed on the ballot. So, if you are a candidate wanting to run for MAYOR OF HOUSTON you can pay a 1,250.00 dollar filing fee or collect signatures to have your name placed on the ballot. If you are a candidate who would like to run for THE CITY OF HOUSTON CONTROLLER position you can pay a 750.00 dollar filing fee or collect signatures to have your name placed on the ballot. And if you are a candidate looking to run for one of the HOUSTON CITY COUNCIL positions you can pay a 500.00 dollar filing fee or collect signatures to have your name placed on the ballot. However, if you plan on going the route of collecting signatures to have your name placed on the ballot, the exact number of signatures needed won’t be determined until sometime in July of this year from what I understand. But, to be sure, all candidates interested in running for office on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in the City of Houston General Election can call (832)393-1100 to speak directly with someone in the City Secretary’s Office. However, if you have any problem whatsoever in getting your questions answered, you can call me directly at (281)788-3033, and I will try to do what I can to help. And just in case you don’t already know, the City Secretary’s Office can be located at 900 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002 on the first floor.

Mayor Tom Reid is The "PROVEN LEADER" and "STEADYHAND" the People of Pearland, Texas Needs During Times Like These

Mayor Tom Reid is the "PROVEN LEADER" and "STEADYHAND" the City of Pearland Needs During These Difficult Times "OUR WORLD" is Facing

REPORT by AUBREY R. TAYLOR

Our world is changing rapidly. There are people out there who want "AMERICA" and the rest of the world to shrink back in fear. They want to cause "FEAR" and "THE THOUGHT OF WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT" to govern us and drive us into a "PARALYZING AND DEBILITATING STATE" of "PANIC AND DISARRAY". Now, while the uncertainty of what's going to happen next in "OUR WORLD" is very real -- we cannot allow evil to win over good! We cannot allow "TERROR TO WIN OVER PEACE OF MIND". We cannot allow "FEAR" to govern how we travel and live our lives. I'm sure by now, you've heard about what happened in London:. BUT IN CASE YOU DID NOT: "London terror attack: Seven victims killed, three suspects shot dead by police." Guys I'm not trying to turn the tragedy of yesterday into some type of "FEAR BASED PLOY" or "POLITICAL MANEUVER". I'm simply saying that these are some very "SERIOUS TIMES WE'RE FACING AS A NATION". And during serious times, we can ill afford to have "UNPROVEN LEADERS" at the helm of our nation, states, cities, or even our neighborhood civic clubs for that matter. So let's take a moment of silence to pray for "ALL" the people affected by what's being called "SEVERAL FATAL AND DEVASTATING SIMULTANEOUS ACTS OF TERROR" as we worship today -- and prepare our schedules for the coming week. And then, let's get BACK TO THE BUSINESS of electing the "BEST QUALIFIED" candidates to represent the City of Pearland on Saturday, June 10, 2017. And oh, there are only two (2) more days of "EARLY VOTING" left. So please remind all your family and friends who live in Pearland that "ALL REGISTERED PEARLAND VOTERS" can vote early on Monday, June 5, 2017 through Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 7:00AM to 7:00PM.

Mayor Tom Reid is our "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Mayor of Pearland. He is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Mayor Tom Reid served "OUR NATION" in the United States Navy as a Fighter Pilot and received the Nathan Hale Award from the Reserve Officers Association of the United States, Department of Texas in 1984. Woody Owens is our "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Pearland City Council Position #7. Woody Owens also loves "OUR NATION" and faithfully "SERVED AMERICA" as a member of the U.S. Navy.

Mayor Tom Reid is the "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Mayor of Pearland. And Woody Owens is the "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Pearland City Council Position #7 on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

The City of Pearland has experienced "UNPRECEDENTED GROWTH" under the direction of this dedicated public servant. He's committed most of his adult life to serving the City of Pearland, Texas. Yes, he's getting up there in age -- but he's still vibrant, full of energy, vitality and has an enviable supply of stamina woven into his DNA! Mayor Tom Reid is doing very well mentally, physically, and emotionally -- and is in much better shape and spirits than many people half his age. Make no mistake about it, he's "THE STEADYHAND" the City of Pearland needs during this "CRUCIAL TIME" when "THE DIRECTION THE CITY IS GOING TO HEAD IS AT STAKE". As an ambassador of sorts Mayor Tom Reid has "STOOD WITH PEARLAND MOST OF HIS ENTIRE ADULT LIFE". And on "SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2017" he needs for every "REGISTERED PEARLANDER TO STAND WITH HIM IN HIS RE-ELECTION BID". So don't forget that back on Saturday, May 6, 2017 his opponent (Quentin Wiltz) made up a lot of ground on him and forced him into a Saturday, June 10, 2017 Runoff Election. Quentin Wiltz is hungry and smells victory! However, his hunger must be satisfied by the bitter taste of defeat -- and his thirst quenched by the oft-fleeting thoughts of what could-have-been. But for now, he's been granted a second chance to try to unseat the beloved Mayor Tom Reid. So you can bet your last dollar that he's going to be looking for his supporters to flood the polls again on Election Day! But Pearlanders should beat back Wiltz' feeble attempt with an "OVER-POWERING SHOW OF LOVE AND SUPPORT" befitting a man as honorable as Mayor Tom Reid. So let's make Saturday, June 10, 2017 different -- it must be! LET'S FINISH THE JOB WE STARTED by making quick-work of Quentin Wiltz -- and helping Mayor Tom Reid to secure his legacy.

MAYOR TOM REID IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE IN THE RACE FOR MAYOR WHO IS ASKING FOR YOUR VOTE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 2017

MAYOR TOM REID is a public servant who values the vote, prayers, and support of every Pearland, Texas resident without respect to ethnicity, gender, political affiliation, socioeconomic status or any other distinguishing characteristic people sometimes use to divide communities. Nor is he endorsing any candidate running for election in the Saturday, June 10, 2017 General Runoff Election race for Mayor of Pearland, Texas.

MESSAGE FROM MAYOR TOM REID

MAYOR TOM REID: “Please let me reiterate that as your Mayor, I do not and will not endorse any candidate seeking elected office in our city. As it is my duty to support everyone in our city government, I may one day have to work alongside these individuals and want them to know that I support each of them equally.

I encourage every citizen to get out there, get involved, get educated, and get to the polls on June 10. Thank you all for your continued support. I look forward to working with you to Keep Pearland Moving Forward."

MAYOR TOM REID NEEDS YOUR VOTE

MAYOR TOM REID'S opponent (Quentin Wiltz) closed ground on him on "ELECTION DAY" back on Saturday, May 6, 2017. However, on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the General Runoff Election we must meet the "ELECTION DAY PUSH" by Quentin Wiltz with a "POWERFUL SHOW OF SUPPORT AND LOVE" befitting a "PUBLIC SERVANT" as "HONORABLE" and "DISTINGUISHED" as MAYOR TOM REID. The very savvy businesswoman and very astute Political Analyst for FOX 26 (Jacquie Baly) GOT IT RIGHT WHEN SHE PROCLAIMED:  "Mayor Tom Reid has done an excellent job representing the City of Pearland. His heart and head are in the right place. The residents of Pearland are blessed to have such a dedicated public servant as their leader. So let's get it right on Saturday, June 10, 2017 by "HELPING MAYOR TOM REID" to beat back the forces seeking to "INVADE" Pearland, Texas and "DIVIDE" the community you love and call home.

Mayor Tom Reid is the "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Mayor of Pearland. And Woody Owens is the "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Pearland City Council Position #7 on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

The Saturday, June 3, 2017 Early Voting Turnout in Pearland Did Not Fail to Live Up to the Hype As The Pearland East Branch Continues to Turnout More Early Voters Than The Pearland West Branch and Shadow Creek Branch Combined

REPORT by AUBREY R. TAYLOR

Over the course of the last few days, I have received phone call after phone call from folks asking me why I think Mayor Tom Reid is leading the Saturday, June 10, 2017 General Election Runoff race for Mayor of Pearland, Texas. So rather than continue to talk about our "POWER RANKINGS" and how we've spent a lot of time researching and studying the "CANVASS REPORTS" I decided to pay a little visit to the Pearland East Branch earlier today to see what's really going on. What did I see? I saw a bunch of folks walking up and hugging Woody Owens, our "PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE" in the race for Pearland City Council Position #7. I also saw folks stopping to talk to members of Mayor Tom Reid's campaign staff -- and giving well-wishes. Guys, the people I saw seemed like old friends if you ask me. Look, a very large number of the votes being put up at the PEARLAND EAST BRANCH are for Mayor Tom Reid and Woody Owens -- I'm pretty sure of that. And the trouble Quentin Wiltz now faces is that Pearland East voters have turned out in greater numbers than Pearland West voters and Shadow Creek voters combined for five (5) consecutive days.

HERE ARE THE NUMBERS

Nobody's going to ever mistake me for a mathematician; but you don't have to be one to figure out what's going down in Pearland, Texas right now! THIS IS A NUMBERS GAME: Look, the vote totals for today, Saturday, June 3, 2017 are as follows: PEARLAND EAST BRANCH: 1,041; PEARLAND WEST BRANCH: 276 and SHADOW CREEK BRANCH: 653. And the most troubling part about these numbers for Quentin Wiltz is that Mayor Tom Reid runs stronger across the entire "PEARLAND VOTER PRECINCT MAP" than any other candidate on the Saturday, June 10, 2017 General Election Runoff ballot. Our "POWER RANKINGS" show that Mayor Tom Reid should win "NO LESS THAN" thirteen (13) of the twenty-six (26) "VOTER PRECINCTS IN PEARLAND, TEXAS". They also showed Quentin Wiltz, perhaps winning about ten (10) of the twenty-six (26) "VOTER PRECINCTS IN PEARLAND, TEXAS". We didn't have enough data on the other three (3) "VOTER PRECINCTS" to make a call on those. But heck, I'm not too sure that Quentin Wiltz is going to even win the ten (10) we "PROJECTED FOR HIM TO WIN" with the way the "EARLY VOTING TOTALS" are coming in so far.

DALIA KASSEB'S LEAD COULD BE SLIPPING AWAY

Dalia's hopes of becoming the first Muslim elected official in the history of Brazoria County could be slipping away with each passing day. The trouble for Dalia Kasseb in the race for Pearland City Council Position #7 is the reception I personally saw PEARLAND EAST VOTERS GIVING WOODY OWENS earlier today. I saw voters hugging Woody Owens. I saw female voters "KISSING WOODY OWENS ON THE CHEEK" and I saw a bunch of folks "PATTING WOODY OWENS ON THE BACK" while I was visiting the Pearland East Branch earlier today. Now, I can't say with complete certainty where the races for Mayor and Pearland City Council Position #7 stand after the first five (5) days of "BALLOT CASTING". But I can say with complete accuracy that "THE PEARLAND EAST VOTERS" I saw today are going-to-bat for somebody -- and if I had to guess, I would say that "SOMEBODY" is Mayor Tom Reid. But we will have to wait until Saturday, June 10, 2017 to find out for sure. So stay tuned...
