Fort Bend ISD’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools Division honors Community Partners at Annual Reception

FORT BEND ISD - Fort Bend ISD’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools staff extended a heartfelt show of appreciation to the dedicated men and women who partner with the District to provide much-needed services and resources to students and staff. Their annual appreciation reception gave the staff the opportunity to officially thank and recognize community partners for their ongoing commitment and dedication to students and staff throughout the school year. The reception also allowed the honored guests to speak about their roles and experiences in the educational process and the many services and resources they provide to help implement student programs.

The community partners in attendance represented such groups as the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Missouri City Police Department, UnitedHealthcare, Student Health Advisory Council, Lifetouch, Tobacco Free Fort Bend Coalition, Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, and FBISD’s Athletic Department.

Welcoming guests to the occasion were Dr. Bob Conlon, Director of Student Support Services; and Annette Henderson, Safe and Drug-Free Schools Facilitator. They both commended the partners on the valuable services they provide. Dr. Conlon also shared results of the High Hope Schools Gallup Student Poll of fifth, seventh and tenth graders, which measures the amount of hope, engagement and sense of well-being that our students have. Conlon attributed the positive survey results to the community partners, saying “You clearly have a positive effect on students’ overall well-being and directly contribute to them having hope.”
