So, a very important point to remember about Texas, is that no Democrat has won a statewide race in Texas since way back in the 1994 Gubernatorial Election. And as illustrated in the report below, Republican Gubernatorial nominee's like Gov. Greg Abbott (far left), typically get the better of their Democratic challengers in the "ABSENTEE BALLOT" category in Harris County, Texas as they cruise to their statewide victories. That being said, you can expect for the fight over how "ABSENTEE BALLOT," or what many people call "MAIL-IN BALLOTS" to be fierce between now and the 2022 Midterm Election. IN OTHER NEWS -- If you are a sitting Democrat Judge who holding a countywide bench in Harris County, you should expect to have a challenger in the Tuesday, March 1, 2022 Democratic Party Primary. That being said, Attorney Tamika "Tammi" Craft announced late last week that she will be seeking to unseat Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger, the presiding judge of the 189th Civil District Court in the Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Democratic Party Primary.

Can Attorney Tamika "Tami" Craft unseat Judge Scot 'dolli" Dollinger in the Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Democratic Party Primary race for District Judge, 189th Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas? In my honest, and unbiased opinion, the answer is YES!!! Especially, if Judge Dollinger does not get himself a very good consultant who understands minority voting trends. How can I say this? Well, for starters, I'm not sure that Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger truly understands what he's going to be up against in a 2022 Democratic Primary faceoff against a pretty well-known "BATTLE-TESTED" Black female candidate. Especially a candidate like Attorney Tamika "Tami" Craft who is coming off of a very stellar 2020 candidacy, that she lost, but was afforded the opportunity to have Democrats (across several Texas counties) cast ballots for her back in 2020 Democratic Primary; in the 2020 Democratic Primary Runoffs; and then again on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in her showdown against Justice Ken Wise, in the race for Justice, 14th Court of Appeals District, Place 7. And another thing that Judge Scot "dolli' Dollinger has to keep in mind, is that each time Attorney Tamika "Tami" Craft's name appeared on the ballot back in 2020, Democratic voters had to actually go down the ballot and select her name. Why is this crucial for Judge Dollinger to remember? Well, this is a very important fact because, back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, when Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger defeated his Republican rival, Sharon Hemphill, straight-ticket voting was still allowed. And though he received 655,707 votes, for 55.44% of the vote, that was kind of like fools gold if you ask me. Why? Well, because 515,812 of the 655,707 votes Judge Dollinger received came by way of straight-ticket voting. Meaning that he received 515,812 of his votes purely because he was on the ballot running as the Democratic nominee. Comparatively speaking, when Attorney Tamika "Tami" Craft tried to unseat Justice, Ken Wise back on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in Harris County, Texas alone, 833,925 ballots were cast specifically for her.

Back on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Attorney Tamika "Tami" Craft received 833,925 votes, for 52.99% of the vote in the race for Justice, 14th Court of Appeals District, Place 7, in Harris County, Texas. Comparatively speaking, her Republican rival, Justice Ken Wise received 738,791 votes, for 47.01% of the vote in Harris County, Texas. However, just for the record, Justice Ken Wise went on to defeat Craft to win his bid for re-election.

Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger, pictured above with Cecil L. Shaw, is pretty popular; but he is going to have his hands full trying to hold of Attorney Tamika "Tami" Craft on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in the Democratic Party Primary race for District Judge, 189th Civil District Court, in Harris County, Texas. Why? Well, back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Judge Scot "dolli" Dollinger received 655,707 votes, for 55.44% of the vote in the race for District Judge, 189th Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. However, as a side note, please understand that, of the 655,707 people who cast their vote for Judge Dollinger back in the 2018 Midterm Election, only 139,895 of the votes were cast specifically for him. You have to keep in mind that, 515,812 of the votes received by Judge Dollinger were cast for him as a straight-ticket vote. I'm only saying this, because Judge Dollinger and every other Democrat who was running countywide back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, enjoyed a 105,158 straight-ticket vote advantage over their Republican counterparts in Harris County.

Expect for Gov. Abbott to receive a lot of support from law enforcement agencies from across the state of Texas in the upcoming 2022 Midterm Election. But, truth be told, he had better make a strong play for crossover votes in 2022. Why? Well, for starters, Governor Greg Abbott got his butt kicked in Harris County, Texas by a no-name Democratic gubernatorial candidate by the name of Lupe Valdez. So he can't take anything for granted in the upcoming 2022 Midterm Elections. And for those of you who don't remember, in Harris County, Lupe Valdez got the better of Gov. Abbott by receiving 628,804 votes, for 52.11% of the vote. And as for Gov. Abbott? Well, Gov. Abbott only received 559,819, votes for 46.39% of the vote back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in Harris County.

The last two major election cycles have not gone well for the Harris County Republican Party. And depending on who you ask, the reasons why will differ considerably. If you ask a Democrat, they’re going to likely tell you that the gap has widened significantly because they’ve got a better ground-game; they’ve done a better job in terms of outreach; they’ve recruited better candidates; they’ve done a better job at registering new voters, and things like that. However, if you ask a Republican you are more than likely going to get a much different response. And to their defense, if you take a moment to objectively view the 2 year investigation that was conducted by citizen reporter Colleen M. Vera, into “ABSENTEE BALLOT HARVESTING” you might get a better understanding of why many local Republicans believe that the two most recent election cycles, whereas Harris County, Texas is concerned are suspect. But that’s a story for another day. Anyways, it’s impossible to understand how to get to where you’re going without understanding how things have gotten so bad over the last few election cycles here in Harris County, Texas. So, to this end, I’m giving you an “EXCLUSIVE LOOK” at how the two major political parties have performed in “MIDTERM ELECTION CYCLES” dating back to when Gov. Ann Richards (Democrat) was unseated by George W. Bush (Republican, way back in the 1994 Midterm Election cycle.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018 MIDTERM
Back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the Midterm Election, Gov. Greg Abbott (Republican) was running for re-election against Lupe Valdez (Democrat) and Mark Jay Tippetts (Libertarian) on the ballot in Harris County. So, for the record, Gov. Abbott went on to win his bid for re-election as Governor of Texas. However, as far as Harris County was concerned, he got his butt kicked. In case you don’t know, Lupe Valdez (Democrat), didn’t really even have any money – comparatively speaking. But in case you don’t know, in Harris County, Lupe Valdez got the better of Gov. Abbott by receiving 628,804 votes, for 52.11% of the vote. As for Gov. Abbott, he only received 559,819, votes for 46.39% of the vote. And as for Mark Jay Tippetts, he only received 18,094 votes, for 1.50% of the vote in Harris County, Texas back in the 2018 Midterm Election cycle. As a side note, Gov. Gregg Abbott beat his Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT” category by receiving 49,293 absentee ballots to Lupe Valdez’s 46,600 absentee ballots back in the 2018 Midterms.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2014 MIDTERM
Back on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, the turnout numbers were low in the Midterm Election as far as Harris County, Texas was concerned. However, this was a very good year for the Harris County Republican Party as their countywide candidates won local races up and down the ballot. Now, in case you don’t remember, Gov. Greg Abbott (Republican) was running for re-election against Wendy R. Davis (Democrat), Kathie Glass (Libertarian), Brandon Parmer (Green Party), and Sarah M. Pavitt (Write-in Candidate) back during the 2014 Midterms. In the end, Gov. Greg Abbott soundly defeated Wendy R. Davis statewide to win his bid for re-election. However, the race here in Harris County was a little closer with Gov. Abbott receiving 349,639 votes, for 51.41% of the vote, and Wendy R. Davis receiving 320,160 votes, for 47.08% of the vote. And for those of you who are wondering, Gov. Abbott also beat Wendy R. Davis, the Democrat in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT” category in Harris County, Texas back in the 2014 Midterm Election. In case you’re wondering, Gov. Abbott received 35,647 absentee ballots, and his Democratic challenger Wendy R. Davis received 34,690 absentee ballots in Harris County, Texas back in the 2014 Midterms.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2010 MIDTERM
Back on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, Bill White (Democrat) got the better of Gov. Rick Perry (Republican) whereas Harris County, Texas was concerned. However, Gov. Perry soundly defeated White in rural areas of Texas and went on to win his bid for re-election. For those of you who are wondering, Bill White received 395,952 votes for 50.23% of the vote in Harris County, Texas. Comparatively speaking, Gov. Rick Perry received 379,516 votes, for 48.15% of the vote. And get this, Gov. Rick Perry, soundly defeated White in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT” category in Harris County, Texas as well. For the record, back in the 2010 Midterm Election, Gov. Perry received 31,101 absentee ballots in Harris County. And just for the record, Gov. Perry’s Democratic challenger Bill White, the former mayor of Houston, Texas only received 22,875 absentee ballots in Harris County, Texas back in the 2010 Midterms.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2006 MIDTERM
Back on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, in the Midterm Election, Gov. Rick Perry (Republican) was running for re-election against five challengers, and he defeated each and every one of them as he cruised to victory. However, former Congressman Chris Bell (Democrat) put up a pretty good fight on his home turf, here in Harris County, Texas. So, in case you don’t remember, Gov. Rick Perry received 215,150 votes, for 36.51% of the vote in Harris County back in the 2016 Midterms. Comparatively speaking, Chris Bell received 203,102 votes, for 34.46% of the vote. And when it came down the “ABSENTEE BALLOT” category, Gov. Rick Perry beat his Democratic challenger Chris Bell, a former U.S. Congressman, in that category as well. For the record, Gov. Rick Perry received 10,872 absentee ballots in Harris County back in the 2006 Midterms, and Chris Bell received 6,776 absentee ballots in his losing bid.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2002 MIDTERM
Back on Tuesday, November 5, 2002, in the Midterm Election, Rick Perry (Republican), was on the ballot seeking to become the 47th Governor of the State of Texas – and he didn’t disappoint. In case you don’t remember, back in the 2002 Midterm Election cycle, Rick Perry faced off against Tony Sanchez (Democrat), Jeff Daiell (Libertarian), Rahul Mahajan (Green Party), and two write-in candidates. However, in the end, Rick Perry dominated his five opponents in every measurable category. In fact, he beat his Democratic rival Tony Sanchez by 75,238 votes right here in Harris County. In case you don’t remember, Rick Perry received 355,293 votes, for 54.82% of the vote. Comparatively speaking, Tony Sanchez only received 280,077 votes, for 43.22% of the vote. And in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT” category, Rick Perry received 23,771 absentee ballot votes in Harris County. And how many “ABSENTEE BALLOT” votes did Tony Sanchez receive in Harris County back in the 2002 Midterms? Well, he only received 12,129 absentee ballot votes in Harris County, Texas back in the 2002 Midterms.

Back on Tuesday, November 6, 1998, in the Midterm Election, George W. Bush (Republican) was running for re-election against Garry Mauro (Democrat) and Lester R. “Les” Turlington, Jr. (Libertarian) on the ballot in Harris County, Texas. So, for the record, George W. Bush went on to win his bid for re-election as Governor of Texas. And as far as Harris County was concerned, he won our county as well. Now, for those of you who don’t know, the official results for Harris County, Texas, were as follows: George W. Bush (Republican) received 350,274 votes, for 65.31% of the vote in Harris County. Garry Mauro (Democrat) received 183,035 votes, for 34.13% of the vote in Harris County. And Lester R. “Les” Turlington, Jr. (LIBERTARIAN), received 3,005 votes for 0.56% of the vote in Harris County, Texas back in the Tuesday, November 6, 1998, Midterm Election.

Back on Tuesday, November 8, 1994, in the Midterm Election, Ann W. Richards (Democrat) was trying to win her bid for re-election as Governor of Texas. She was being challenged by George W. Bush (Republican) and Keary Ehlers (LIBERTARIAN) on the ballot in Harris County, Texas. So, for the record, George W. Bush (Republican) went on to unseat Governor Ann Richards. And as far as Harris County was concerned, he won our county as well. Now, for those of you who don’t know, the official results for Harris County, Texas, were as follows: George W. Bush (Republican) received 348,507 votes, for 54.29% of the vote in Harris County. Gov. Ann Richards (Democrat) received 290,118 votes, for 45.19% of the vote in Harris County. And Keary Ehlers (LIBERTARIAN) received 3,337 votes for 0.52% of the vote in Harris County, Texas back in the Tuesday, November 8, 1994, Midterm Election. Also, for your information, no Democrat has won a statewide election in Texas, since George W. Bush defeated Gov. Ann W. Richards way back in the Tuesday, November 8, 1994, Midterm Election.
"On Saturday, May 1, 2021, a general election will take place in some areas of Texas. There’s also a uniformed general election scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in some areas of Texas. But the most anticipated date on the 2021 calendar is Monday, December 13, 2021 – the date when Democratic and Republican candidates who are looking to land a spot on their respective party’s primary ballot must sign up.
