Blueford-Daniels Defeats Frazer With Mail Ballots; Cook Defeats Johnson; Two HCAD Races Headed to Runoffs

In the Uniform and Special Election on Saturday, May 4, 2024, Kathy Blueford-Daniels (left) received nearly twice as many "ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOTS" as any other candidate running for office. In the (HCAD) Harris Central Appraisal District, At-Large Position 1 race, Kathy Blueford-Daniels received 8,761 absentee mail ballots. Comparatively speaking, Bill Frazer received 4,388 absentee mail ballots. THE MAIL BALLOT FLOW... On Monday, April 22, 2024, the Harris County Clerk reported receiving 10,857 absentee mail ballots on the first day of early voting. The Harris County Clerk's Office reportedly mailed out 38,202 absentee mail ballots to eligible voters. As of Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the last day of early voting, only 14,152 of the 38,202 absentee mail ballots that were mailed out had been filled out and returned to the Harris County Clerk's Office, which means that as of the last day of early voting, there were still 24,050 absentee mail ballots floating around Harris County, Texas. Blueford-Daniels Defeats Frazer With Mail Ballots; Cook Defeats Johnson; Two HCAD Races Headed to June 15th Runoffs

AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

What surprised many in Harris County, Texas, last night in the race for Senate District 15 wasn’t surprising at all to me. After State Rep. Jarvis Johnson won the Houston Chronicle endorsement over Molly Cook, he started smelling himself. Last night, he suffered an embarrassing defeat to an emergency school nurse in his quest to serve out the remaining term of former State Senator John Whitmire’s senate seat that he had held for decades.

“YOU GO GIRL.”

The first thing you have to do when facing off against a career politician like State Rep. Jarvis Johnson is match his efforts in the “ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOT” category – which Molly Cook and her team did masterfully during the Saturday, May 4, 2024, Uniform and Special Election – you go girl.

In the “ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOT” category, Jarvis Johnson received 1,809 absentee mail ballots, and Molly Cook received 1,615. After I saw that Jarvis Johnson had only received 194 absentee mail ballots than Molly Cook, I knew Johnson was about to go down in defeat.

Molly Cook jumped all over Jarvis Johnson during the “EARLY VOTING” period by securing 3,518 early in-person votes, while Jarvis Johnson could only muster 2,382 early in-person ballots.

After moping the floor with Jarvis Johnson during the “EARLY VOTING” voting period, Molly Cook dominated Jarvis Johnson on “ELECTION DAY” by obtaining 4,197 votes. Poor Jarvis Johnson only received 2,782 votes on “ELECTION DAY” as he bit the dust.

The final unofficial tally posted by the Harris County Clerk at 1:42 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, shows that Molly Cook has 9,330 votes, for an astonishing 57.23%. Comparatively speaking, Jarvis Johnson only has 6,973 votes, for a measly 42.77% of the vote.

“THE HCAD RACES.”

In the (HCAD) Harris Central Appraisal District At-Large 1 race, Kathy Blueford-Daniels received nearly twice as many “ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOTS” than any other candidate running for office on the Saturday, May 4, 2024, Uniform Election ballot.

In the unofficial results, Kathy Blueford-Daniels received 8,761 absentee mail ballots, and Bill Frazer received only 4,388. However, it’s extraordinary how Bill Frazer ran much closer to Kathy Blueford-Daniels regarding the in-person voting.

The race between Kathy Blueford-Daniels and Bill Frazer was neck and neck during the “EARLY VOTING” period. Kathy Blueford-Daniels received 9,396 in-person votes, while Bill Frazer received 9,049.

It’s astonishing how Kathy Blueford-Daniels obliterated Bill Frazer in the “ABSENTEE MAIL BALLOT” category by 4,373 votes but could only beat Frazer by 347 votes during early voting.

What made the (HCAD) Harris Central Appraisal District At-Large 1 race results even more intriguing was the fact Bill Frazer dominated Kathy Blueford-Daniels on election day.

In case you don’t know, Bill Frazer received 11,603 in-person votes on election day, and Kathy Blueford-Daniels received 9,249 and somehow managed to avoid a Saturday, June 15, runoff election.

The final unofficial tally, by the Harris County Clerk at 1:42 am on Sunday, May 5, 2024, for the (HCAD) Harris Central Appraisal District race between Kathy Blueford-Daniels and Bill Frazer, shows Blueford-Daniels with 27,406 votes for 50.35% of the vote. Comparatively speaking, Bill Frazer received 25,040 votes for 46.00% of the vote.

“THE HCAD RUNOFFS.”

Congratulations are to Kyle Scott, Melissa Noriega, Pelumi Adeleke, and Ericka McCrutcheon for making their way into the upcoming Saturday, June 15, 2024, runoff election for the (HCAD) Harris Appraisal District Director, At-Large, Place 2, and At-Large Place 3, positions.

In the (HCAD) Harris Central Appraisal District, At-Large, Place 2 race, Kyle Scott received 25,258 votes for 46.56%, and Melissa Noriega received 13,533 votes for 24.94%. That said, in the (HCAD Harris Central Appraisal District At-Large, Place 3 race, Ericka McCrutcheon received 22,231 votes for 41.30%, and Pelumi Adeleke received 11,466 votes for 21.30%.

“CLOSING THOUGHTS.”

Do you realize that only 56,612 of the 2,620,595 registered Harris County voters bothered to cast a ballot in these critical countywide (HCAD) Harris Central Appraisal District races? That’s only a 2.16% turnout, which spells trouble moving ahead to the upcoming Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Harris County Democratic Party Primary runoffs and Republican Party Primary runoffs.

What’s staring us in the face is called “VOTER APATHY.” And if you ask me, all of the negative campaigning and divisiveness that’s taking place in states all across America is causing voters to check out of the voting process and not give a damn who wins or who loses.
