The Community Educational "Candidates Forum" is Happening Today from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church


Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church is located at 3015 N. MacGregor Way in Houston, Texas 77004. This event is open to the public, so everyone is welcome to come out and meet the candidates and be informed on the issues.

Over 70 Statewide and Harris County Candidates are Expected to Attend the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Community Educational Forum Taking Place Today at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church

HOUSTON, TX - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Xi Alpha Omega Chapter, in partnership with Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. D. Z. Cofield, the Houston Area  Urban League Guild, and Houston Business Connections Newspaper©, published by Aubrey R. Taylor Communications, will host a Community Educational Candidate Forum on Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM. The Forum will be held at the historic Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church located at 3015 N. MacGregor Way, Houston, Texas 77004 and is a non-partisan event designed to educate and engage the community on the political candidates for the upcoming November 2018 elections. 

Confirmed attendance includes over 70 candidates representing Democratic, Republican, and Independent parties for the following offices:

U.S. Congress, State Senate, State House of Representatives, Texas Comptroller, Texas State Court of Criminal Appeals, Texas State Court of Civil Appeals, Harris County Judicial District Courts and County Courts at Law (Family, Criminal, Civil and Justice of the Peace courts), Harris County District Clerk, Harris County Clerk, Harris County Treasurer, and Harris County Judge.

The Community Educational Candidate Forum is open to the public and will be a unique experience, whereby participating candidates will be grouped by the political office they are seeking in order to engage closely with the audience through moderated question-and-answer breakout sessions. Participating candidates will also distribute literature to the attendees after the sessions for additional one-on-one interaction with community members.

EARLY VOTING HOURS OF OPERATION

Houston Business Connections Newspaper© is encouraging all registered Harris County, Texas voters to cast their vote during the early voting hours of operation.
